The VMARS Technical Information Service American Military Radio Communications Equipment |
The page covers equipment that was originally made in the USA for the US Forces. A lot of this equipment made its way to the UK during WWII, often under the "lead-lease" agreements, and subsequently became very familiar to the post-war generation of amateurs. Other equipment, such as the AN/GRC-9 has arrived here because its design was adopted by other Nato countries in Europe, and increasing contact between the UK and nearby European countries in recent decades has meant that samples have found their way over here.
